Takoma Park will use TP Alert to immediately contact you during a major crisis or emergency. TP Alert will deliver important emergency alerts, notifications and updates to you on the devices you register:
- e-mail account (work, home, other)
- cell phone
- text pager
- wireless PDA
When an incident or emergency occurs, authorized senders will instantly notify you - so this system is your personal connection to real-time updates, instructions on where to go, what to do, or what not to do, who to contact and other important information.
While signing up for TP Alert is free of charge, your wireless carrier may or may not, charge you a fee to receive text messages. Please check on the FAQ link (left column), and your wireless service agreement, to review your carrier's pricing scheme.
Takoma Park's Office of Emergency Management reserves the right to restrict at any time the usage of this alert system to Takoma Park residents and commuters.
